Triazolam

Triazolam is a hypnotic drug to treat insomnia, sold under the brand name Halcion. The beauty of triazolam resides in its core benzodiazepine structure, which was initially discovered by accident. Benzodiazepines were a common and popular drug motif in the late 20th century. However, many studies found benzodiazepine-based drugs, including triazolam, cause severe adverse effects. The prescription of triazolam is even banned in some countries, and its use should be carefully regulated.
